Facebook is taking a cue from its competitors like Musical.ly or Dubsmash on Wednesday announced new features that enable people to express themselves with music in posts, including a new feature, “Lip Sync Live.”
First up together with other partners from the music industry Facebook is enabling people to include music in the videos on it’s social networking platform, The feature is currently in testing in several markets and will become available more broadly soon.
Lip Sync Live
Another new feature called “Lip Sync Live,” which lets you express yourself with music let you lip sync to songs from a variety of genres in real time. To get started with the featue, simply choose the Lip Sync Live option when you start Live video, then select a song from the song list, add a description and customize your video with masks or a background.
“Whether you prefer songs like “Happier” by Ed Sheeran or “God’s Plan” by Drake, Lip Sync Live lets you bring friends and family into spontaneous musical moments,” wrote facebook.
When broadcasting with Lip Sync Live, friends will see the artist and song highlighted on the video and can tap to follow the artist on Facebook.
