With the release of Office 365, Microsoft also updated the developers resources. The June 2011 Update of the Office 365 Developer Training Kit can now be downloaded free.
"The Office 365 Developer Training Kit contains developer focused presentations, self-paced labs and links to key resources to help you build solutions that leverage SharePoint Online, Exchange Online and Lync Online," Microsoft stated.
"In Office 365, SharePoint 2010, Exchange 2010 and Lync Server 2010 are hosted in Microsoft cloud datacenters to provide collaboration and communication as software-as-a-service (SaaS). Using this kit, you'll learn how to build collaborative and communication focused cloud solutions that run in Office 365 using Visual Studio 2010 and the .NET Framework."
Developers intent on taking advantage of the collection of resources for Office 365, will still be required to run all the on-premises solutions that are packed as services into Microsoft's Cloud productivity suite.
The company recommends that they have installed products such as Office 2010, Lync 2010, SharePoint Server 2010 and Visual Studio 2010.
"After downloading the training kit, run the self-extracting executable to extract all of the training kit files to your local machine," the software comapny explains.
"After the content is extracted, the starting page for the training kit will be displayed in your default browser. You can then browse through the individual hands-on labs, demos, and presentations."
