Google recently introduced Google Home, a new voice-activated speaker, now to offer users a one-stop destination for managing compatible home devices, the company rename its Google Cast app to “Google Home app”.
On top of the new name, the app also got a new icon, as well as added some useful new features including:
Google Home app’s new design make it even easier to watch trending and popular video content through the Watch tab, on a Chromecast-enabled apps like HBO Now, Netfilx, Hulu, YouTube, and Google Play Movies, google writes.
While with the new Discover tab, you can now explore latest offers, features and tips, as well as a library of 1000+ apps that work with Chromecast.
Even, with the new magnifying glass icon in the bottom right hand corner, you can search and browse content across Chromecast-enabled apps right in the Google Home app.
The new app even lets you control and manage all Chromecast and Google Home devices by just tapping the Devices icon, located in the top right of the home screen. By using this icon, you can easily set up a new device, control playback or adjust Backdrop settings on TV, and more.
And, finally, this is not end, Google notes more updates will be coming in early November, with the app as Google Home becoming available in the US by then.
