At the TechFest, Microsoft Research showed off “Cliplets” which literally blurs the line between still photography and video.
Microsoft Research Cliplets 1.0.1 application can be downloaded and installed on PCs running either 32-bit or 64-bit versions of Windows 7 — is an interactive app that uses semi-automated methods to give users the power to create “cliplets” — a type of imagery that sits between stills and video from handheld videos.
“Through this simple application, people can put together photos and videos to create content in which the focus remains on what was intended to be captured in the first place. The tool provides a creative lens one can use to focus on important aspects of a moment by performing spatiotemporal compositing and editing on a video-clip input,” informs Microsoft.
The application takes advantage of semi-automated methods to provide users with the option to create “Cliplets.”
