Bing for Windows 8 App Adds 'Infinite Scroll, Smart Motion Thumbnails, Semantic Zoom'

Bing has pulled together some very cool ways to get the latest news, photos and more, from the red carpet to the after parties and all points in between during the Grammy's.

Bing also launched today touch friendly video results as well as web and image results in the Windows 8 app.

Now, available in 12 countries, the update makes it easier to scan, explore and discover videos. The video results are touch friendly with infinite scroll giving you a quick and easy way to view virtually unlimited videos by simply scrolling across the page.

In addition to scrolling, newly added "Smart Motion Thumbnails" let you watch a preview of results without having to wait for the video to load.

"Simply tap a video result thumbnail with a play icon in the lower right hand corner, or mouse over the thumbnail image, to start the video preview. Tap again or mouse away to stop the preview video. Click on the text description to the right to go to the full video," explains Bing.

Additionlly, new "Semantic Zoom" features lets you pinch to find related searches for web and images results. "Just place two fingers on the search results screen and pinch to get related search queries."

In other news, Microsoft announced Six new retail store coming this summer are as follows: "Natick Mall, Natick, Massachusetts; Ala Moana Center, Honolulu, Hawaii; Pioneer Place, Portland, Oregon; The Somerset Collection, Troy, Michigan; Woodfield Mall, Schaumburg, Illinois."

Finally, the company today issued an statement that it has has provided a $2 billion loan to the group that has proposed to take Dell private.

"Microsoft is committed to the long term success of the entire PC ecosystem and invests heavily in a variety of ways to build that ecosystem for the future," the company wrote.
