Bing Ads Disallow Cryptocurrency Advertising On Its Platform

Bing has just announced a blow to the cryptocurrency marketer’s, that they’re banning all ads promoting anything related to cryptocurrency, be it sales, offerings and other crypto related products.

With this announcement, Bing joins hands with Google, Facebook and Twitter, who had previously banned cryptocurrency advertising on their respective platforms earlier this year.

Citing the reason behind this ban, Bing said, cryptocurrency and related products are risky due to the fact they are not regulated. The give potential to bad actors to participate in predatory behaviours, or otherwise scam consumers. As such, Bing is banning these ads for crytocurrency, cryptocurrency-related products and unregulated binary options (all-or-nothing options, digital options or fixed return options) to ensure safety to its users and the digital advertising ecosystem.

“We are always evaluating our policies to ensure a safe and engaging experience for our Bing users and the digital advertising ecosystem,” wrote Bing. Adding, “Because cryptocurrency and related products are not regulated, we have found them to present a possible elevated risk to our users…”

Thereby, to help protect users from this risk, “we have made the decision to disallow advertising for cryptocurrency, cryptocurrency related products, and un-regulated binary options.”

This policy change will take effect officially in June to all financial products and services policy globally. With enforcement will be rolling out in between late June to early July.
