Apple gave publishers the ability to add illustrated books to the iBookstore, and now, full color children's picture books make an appearance on the store. These picture books work with the iBooks 1.2 update that allows full-colored books. The picture books even have samples, like standard iBooks, and are read through a custom reader (pictured after the break).

Currently, Apple's promoting children's picture books on the iBookstore. They've broken down the listings by age and by series.

The books are categorized by age with prices ranging from as low as $3.99 and all the way up to $12.99.
