A leaked music player app could give Android fans their first glimpse at what's to come in a future version of Google's mobile OS. The app is claimed to be first shown off by Google's VP of engineering Vic Gundotra at the Google I/O conference in May.

At that time, Vic said the app, along with music streaming, would give users ''a flavour'' of what was to come post-Froyo. While music streaming doesn't appear to have made the cut in the debug build, there're visual clues including identical menu buttons and a very similar overall visual style that seem to support that claim that the app is the same one shown off seven months ago.

For those who want to give the leaked app a try, an APK has been made available here.
