The America’s Cup has helped develop the sport of Cup racing and even brought attention to taking better care of oceans.
“The AC World Series will allow the teams and their sailors to prepare for the Louis Vuitton Cup challenger series, the defender series (if necessary) and the America’s Cup finals in the heat of battle. With the switch to cutting-edge, multihulls, powered by towering wingsails, this is time on the race course that will benefit all of the sailors,” reads the introduction page.
“Equally, the regattas will bring America’s Cup racing to fans around the world, giving hundreds of thousands of people the opportunity to experience the action up close and personal.
Both fleet and match racing will be a part of each event, testing the skill of the crews as never before.”
Now, you’ll have an “opportunity to experience the sport in a whole new way as this year’s America’s Cup World Series is being live streamed on YouTube at the America’s Cup channel,” announced Seth Frank, YouTube Strategic Partner Development Manager.
“With on board cameras and microphones in HD quality, you can see and hear the crews live as they attempt difficult maneuvers and battle for nautical supremacy.”
