RIM’s BlackBerry devices now have access to a massive catalog of downloadable music, with the arrival of Amazon’s MP3 store. Apart from giving access to Amazon’s huge selection of tunes, Amazon MP3 lets you take advantage of their dirt-cheap Daily Deal albums and grab the free MP3 of the day.
- Users can swipe through the top nav on the landing screen and then browse by New Songs, New Albums, Top Songs, Top Albums, and Genres. You can also browse by Sub Genres (such as American Alternative, British Alternative, Goth, Hardcore Punk, Indie & Lo-Fi, and so on).
- Sharing to social networks is also built-in, so it’s a breeze to post your favorite new tracks to Twitter or Facebook — or notify friends via BBM, SMS, or email.
- For those who like to sneak a listen before pulling the trigger on a digital download purchase, Amazon does offer previews — though they’re only 30 seconds long.
- All songs downloaded are integrated into “on device” media library for easy integration into playlists.
To enjoy the Amazon MP3 for BlackBerry Smartphones app, you’ll need activation with a data service plan and a device running BlackBerry OS version 5.0 or higher.
The app available in open beta in the US on BlackBerry App World, and on mobile.blackberry.com.[Source]
