With the PlayStation 3 console now nearly out in PAL regions, we today learn that UK supermarket chain Asda (who are owned by Wal-Mart), are presently running a promotion flogging slimline PS2 systems for just 50 GBP. The promotion is running across the country, though will only run while stocks last, with the systems said to be going like hotcakes.
Earlier in the week UK trade outlet Makro was found selling the Xbox 360 premium pack for just 200 GBP, with this a further sign of retails adjusting their stock levels and prices in anticipation of the PS3's long-awaited arrival. We're also hearing reports that the supermarket are selling certain games for six pounds or less.
