In another TV commerical, this time for Surface Pro, Microsoft puts a spotlight on OneNote. "This is a Surface ad, but when you watch closely it's also like it's an ad for OneNote," Nicole Steinbok, a Program Manager on the OneNote team writes.

OneNote helps you move your paper notes into the cloud, "just take a picture of them and insert the image into OneNote. OneNote 2013 converts the image into text wherever possible (right-click the image, then select Alt Text to check it out). OneNote 2013 converts the image into text wherever possible. Microsoft Surface team outlined the latest updates and improvements released to Surface RT and Surface Pro as part of June 2013 Patch Tuesday.

Microsoft begins with explaining "WiFi connectivity" issue that has been plaguing Surface owners for quite a while now. The company has apparently, resolved the issue for now.

"There were improvements back in the March update that reduced the instances of 'limited connectivity', and we've gone further since then to minimize these events from the Surface side. We take the ability to get and stay connected very seriously and hope that you've noticed the improvement," Microsoft explains.

Second, a new driver for the "Surface USB to Ethernet adaptor for Surface Pro" released allow direct Ethernet connection to a wired network, including the ability to PXE boot (PXE stands for Preboot eXecution Environment - it means you can boot from the network).

This adapter is available via the Microsoft Store for roughly $40.

Microsoft also refine the typing experience on Touch and Type Cover-meaning Touch and Type Cover are now even better at catching every single keystroke wherever you're typing.

The June 2013 firmware update also brought forth improvements to the function keys available on either Touch or Type Cover with Surface RT as well as Surface Pro.

And, the update to the "LifeCam driver on Surface Pro" "enhances image clarity in low light conditions, as well as performance improvements and reliability when you switch between the integrated camera and an external camera."

Finally, a firmware update has also recently boosted the volume of the Surface RT. The boost in volume is "great for games, videos, Lync, and Skype calls," the team adds.
