LinkedIn navigation bar unveiled today comes with a few visually striking differences, including a simplified menu of tabs to help you quickly and easily locate the features and content that are of most value to you.

"We have also moved the search bar front and center to make easier than ever to discover and find what you're looking for on LinkedIn," informs LinkedIn.

Also, the new bav ensures that your settings and other account options are a click away. "Just hover over your profile picture in the upper right hand corner and the drop down menu gives you quick access to your account options, language and settings," the company writes.

LinkedIn finally enabled two-factor authentication to its sign-in process.

Unlike some of these other services, LinkedIn's system doesn't offer a smartphone app. Instead, it can only send codes via SMS.

Two-step verification helps in securing your accounts by requiring you to type a numeric code when logging in from an unrecognized device for the first time--in addition, to passwords. This code will be sent to your phone via SMS. When enabled, two-step verification makes it more difficult for unauthorized users to access your account, requiring them to have both your password and access to your mobile phone.

To set it up:

  1. "Go to Privacy & Settings Tab,
  2. Select the Account tab, and click on "Manage security settings" options
  3. Click "Turn on 2-Step verification"
  4. Register and verifiy your mobile phone number," explains LinkedIn.
