Bing News Now Shows Events Carousel and Releated People

Bing News now allow searching notable person in current events, shows top news results, a visual carousel, and releated people. New Sculpt Comfort Mouse and Sculpt Mobile Mouse for Windows 7 and Windows 8. Add Skype button to a website.

Bing News added a new features related to how you can explore people, places and things in a visual and easy-to-use carousel format.

Starting today, "you can search for a notable person in current events and not only see the top news results from across the web, but also a visual carousel which allows you to explore important and timely topicsrelated to the specific person you're searching for," Bing informs.

In addition, Bing will even display related individuals on the right-hand side. For example, in the screenshot below, Nicki Minaj is show related to Taylor Swift--becasue, she was honored alongside Taylor at the Billboard Music Awards:

Further Bing notes, that for its news vertical, "recently it has extended news articles index beyond two weeks."

"This means when there's no fresh news related to a given query, we can look back over several years to bring you any relevant articles," bing explains.

In other news, Microsoft today unveiled two new mice designed specifically for Windows.

These are the first mice from Microsoft to include a Windows button on them, giving you quick and easy access to specific features in Windows - and, in the case of the Sculpt Comfort Mouse, more advanced functionality in Windows 8.

Sculpt Comfort Mouse, perfect companion to the Sculpt Comfort Keyboard has a touch-sensitive blue strip on its side called the "Windows touch tab that makes it easy to navigate Windows 8 with just the touch or swipe of a finger," informs Microsoft.

When pressed, it of course takes you to your Start screen, just like the Windows buttons on keyboards, PCs and tablets as well as "If you swipe up on the blue strip, it cycles through all your open Windows Store apps in Windows 8. And if you swipe down, it will reveal all the open apps (on the left side of your screen) for you to select the one you want," explains the company.

Sculpt Mobile Mouse with a Windows button works great on Windows 7 or Windows 8. "It has a four-way scrolling letting you scroll sideways by tilting the scroll wheel to the right or left in addition to the vertical scrolling you're used to."

Both, the Sculpt Mobile and Sculpt Comfort Mouse has a compact design, a tiny wireless USB transceiver, and BlueTrack technology.

Microsoft in a "The Browser You Loved to Hate" page video, indicates that WebGL support in Internet Explorer 11 is very likely in the near future.

The video "Not Your Father's Browser--Episode 9: What's Next?" offer no other specifics.

In another video, part of Garage Series, tackle managing Office in virtualized environments from the entire desktop to hosting the application on Remote Desktop Server with Office 365.

The host explain virtualization options, licensing implications and even demonstrate how to convert Click-to-Run media into an App-V package. And, the lead deployment engineer Jefferson Criddle discusses how application virtualization is at the core of the Click-to-Run based Office 365 ProPlus.

Update 05:24: Running a website or a self-hosted WordPress blog, small business can now add a Skype button for providing their customers with great service, one on one.

Skype buttons - which are free and quick to add to a website -"enable small business owners to interact directly with current and prospective customers, to answer questions or even complete transactions," writes Skyupe team.

To add a Skype button on your site, simply visit the Skype button page and enter your Skype name, choose whether you want your button to initiate a call, IM chat or both, and select your button's color and size. You'll then receive a code snippet that you paste into the HTML pages where you want the button to live.
