New Conversational Search Experience; Google Now Cards; Better Knowledge Graph

Google's new search experience--introduces multi-screen "Conversational Search" hotwording prompting with "OK Google." Knowledge Graph adds statistics, new languages. Google Now gets new "Reminders, Music, Public Transit,TV,Booksand Video Games" Cards.

Google Conversation Search previewed today at the 2013 I/O conference brings a new conversational experience in Chrome browser on both desktop and laptops.

Similar to the prompt that wakes up Google Glass, soon, you'll be able to just say, hands-free (with you mic open), "OK Google, will it be sunny in Santa Cruz this weekend?" and get a spoken answer. Then, you'll be able to continue the conversation and just follow up with "how far is it from here?"

It's very similar what you can do with Google Now right now.

Also, improvements to the Knowledge Graph now offering more intelligent answers in other languages. Starting today, "you'll get richer answers from the Knowledge Graph if you speak Polish, Turkish, and Traditional and Simplified Chinese," informs Google.

In addition, Knowledge Graph will start exposing a number of statistics as graphs on the search results pages today. When you ask a question, you'll not only get the answer to that question, but you also get an answer to the next few follow-up questions people often ask. In a single card, "you'll see how Canada's population changed over time -- and a comparison with California and Australia," Google explains.

Finally, Google Now adds new take on reminders, and new cards.

With the new reminders in Now, "not only can you save things to remember later, but you can actually pick a time or place to trigger those reminders, so they pop up at just the right time," Google writes.

And the best part is, you can create some of these reminders with just your voice.

Say, for example, you're interested in an upcoming book, Google Now will shoot you a reminder when it comes out, and even provide a recommendation.
