Microsoft Seeks Testers for Facebook App for Windows Phone Beta

Facebook for Windows Phone Beta app, Skype video messaging preview for Windows 7, Switch to Windows Phone apps for Android and WP.

Microsoft is seeking testers for the refreshed Facebook app for Windows Phone 8.

The refreshed Facebook app is undergoing "a major redesign," according to Microsoft, and also include several "much-requested" features, including support for high-res photos, post sharing and Facebook Timeline.

Microsoft is requesting users to submit bugs and feature requests by going to Settings>About in the app.

Microsoft also rolled out today a preview of Skype's Video Messaging feature for Windows 7 and Windows 8, and "will push an update in the near future for the Windows 8 Skype app."

"Skype Video Messaging lets you record a video message and send it to people who matter to you on Skype anytime, even when they're unavailable; they will be able to watch the Video Message next time they're online," Skype team wrote.

Microsoft has also rolled out this new feature in preview available to Skype for Mac, Skype for iPhone, Skype for iPad and Skype for Android.

Anther app, that made the way today, is the new "Switch to Windows Phone," that helps you see how many of your Android apps are available on Windows Phone.

"Just run Switch to Windows Phone on your Android, and this app will check to see if your installed apps are available in the Windows Phone Store. Then (if you choose) Switch to Windows Phone can save your results so you can retrieve them later on your new Windows Phone and install the apps," Microsoft explains.

Another released alongside once installed on your Windows Phone, can retrieve a list from your save results and install the apps that were found to be similar to what you had before on Android.

All you have to do is log into the Windows Phone app with the Microsoft Account you created or used via the Android app and you will be taken to the app install page where you can easily install all the similar apps you had.
