Google Now for iPhone. iPod touch and iPad, with the Google Search app arrives in Apple iTunes App Store.

Google Now on iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, is now available through Google Search app for iOS devices.

Google Now, which is a Siri competitor is about giving just the right information at just the right time. There's no digging required as the "cards" appear at the moment you need them most. It can show you the day's weather as you get dressed in the morning, or alert you that there's heavy traffic between you and your butterfly-inducing date.

In addition to the handy cards in Google Now, the Google Search app still gives you instant answers to all your questions. Try tapping the microphone and speak to your phone--you'll get quick answers spoken back to you.

"For example, ask Google, "Do I need an umbrella this weekend?" and you'll get the forecast. Or ask "Who's in the cast of 'Oblivion'?" to decide if you want to see it. Voice Search is particularly handy on the go--try "Show me nearby pizza places" and you'll see a map of restaurants around you with directions, phone numbers, ratings and hours." google explains.

Google Now can also share news updates on a story you've been following, remind you to leave for the airport so you can make your flight and much more.

Update 04/30: If you're enabled Google Apps for your Domain on your domain, here is how to turn Google Now on before using it.

You'll need to (or your admin will need to) turn it on for your Google Apps Domain. It just takes a moment. Note that you're changing this setting under Android but it affects iOS as well, which is why it's so unintuitive.

  1. Sign in to your Google Apps control panel.
  2. Go to Settings > Mobile > Org Settings > Android settings.
  3. Click the checkbox next to Enable Google Now to turn on Google Now.
  4. Click Save.

When you're on the run, using the Google Search app can help you find the fastest route to your destination. Say that you need to run to the mall for a Mother's Day gift. Tap the microphone and ask, "What's the best way to get to the Hillsdale Shopping Center?" On the results page, Google shows you all of your options for directions including driving, walking, transit and biking.

Plus, you can see live traffic and live public transit timing via Google Maps when you tap Get directions.

Google added a new "Nearby" Card to Google Now on the Google Search app for iPhone and Android, that will show you nearby attractions when you're out and about in a new place.

"Each attraction is labeled with the distance from your current location and when you click on one, you'll be taken to a page that highlights info such as contact info, hours and reviews," informs Google.

To embark on your adventure, simply tap on Directions and Google Maps will help you find your way.
