Basically, if you visit the Bing.com U.S. page today and type in "Google" in the search box--Bing dispalys a mockup of Google search page--that offer two different options, "to either start a search or hit the "I'm Feeling Confused" button." Clicking on the link, takes you to Bing blog post explaining,

"Today we're running a special test, where if you visit bing.com and enter a certain telltale query, you'll get something a little more bland. We decided to go back to basics, to the dawn of the Internet, to reimagine Bing with more of a 1997, dial-up sensibility in mind." the blog post reads.

Microsoft also introduces today "Do Not Tracksuit," a wearable computing appliance that enforces context specific privacy preferences in real world environments.

The Do Not Tracksuit. will be available at retail the first day of the second quarter in 2014.

Simply "It blocks the wearer from being tagged, checked in, scanned, filmed, recorded, hashtagged or poked, in the real world and the virtual world," writes Frank X. Shaw, cvp of Corporate Communications at Microsoft.

"Using a combination of NFC, RFID, Bluetooth 5.2 and infrared emitter technology optimized in our labs, the Do Not Tracksuit is smart enough to detect specific device/app vectors and neutralize them in accordance with the wearer's intent. It doesn't simply block all social media behavior in its proximity. Using proven SmartScreen technology, the suit can tell the difference between your mom tagging a great churro in Foodspotting and a frenemy tagging your photo in Foursquare.

With fuzzy logic algorithms it can identify an attempted tracking behavior within a 100th of a second and select the precise frequency needed to neutralize it, blurring an image, garbling a recording, or jamming an upload in near real time.

And with repeated use, it improves its reaction time, building a branch-predicting profile of the people the wearer encounters and their preferred method of over-sharing," Shaw explains.

"Remember that scene in Minority Report where all of the billboards started calling him by name? We thought consumers deserved to opt out of that sort of thing. The Do Not Tracksuit is our first step," he adds.

Update: To help webmasters better rank their websites in search results, Bing today launched "SEO tag," that allows you to tell Bing where you should rank.

All you need to do is "just place the following code inside your page HTML, fill in the blanks to tell Bing which result your page should appear at," and "when a query is performed, we'll scan the page and place you accordingly," bing explains.

<link rel="seo" query="weather" set_to_position="2" />
<link rel="seo" must_be_before="*.mycompetitor.com/*" />

"That second line is very handy, too, as you can skip the actual rank position, the "set_to_position" portion, and simply specify that if a competitor's page is ranking for a term, that you are to rank one spot higher.

Upon launch we'll only recognize one "must_be_before" tag, but beginning on April 1st, 2014, you'll be able to stack up to 50 of them in your code to offer greater coverage for your site.

To ensure compliance with this request, should you insert more than one "must_be_before" tag this year, we'll simply contact your host and arrange for the server hosting your site to be put into a low-earth orbit for the following 365 days," explains Bing.

Bing further says, those it will also install a "Rank Me" button inside webmaster tools for you, to streamline the workflow.
