Google just sent out invites for an October 29th Android event in NYC -- starts at 10:00 -- the event will also be live streamed on YouTube.

The press event happens the Monday after Apple's iPad mini event and coincide with the launch of Windows 8 and the Microsoft Surface.

Google could unveal a new Android smartphones with the Nexus brand, including one made by Sony and could possible be see a new LG Nexus smartphone.

Or, a 32 GB or a 64 GB version of the recently launched Nexus 7 tablet.

Google Zeitgeist event for partners took place this week in Paradise Valley, Arizona. The company has now released a series of videos from the event, featuring Eric Schmidt and Google CEO Larry Page.

Topics consisted of "The World" and exploration, Google's strong areas.

Page, taking dig at Apple's Map said, "We said it would be really nice to have a virtual representation of the real world that was accurate. Seven years later we're kind of almost there, and we're excited that other people have started to notice that we've worked hard on that for seven years".

Page also discussed self-driving cars, how Google chooses which markets to enter, and the antitrust issues the company currently faces, along with debates about privacy policy changes.

He also specifically discussed Google Wallet, Google's role in education, and how the search ecosystem can improve by using information from other services like Maps and Google+. "Social data is obviously important and useful for that," he said. "We love to make use of that in every way we can".
