Registration for Microsoft's WOWZAPP 2012, Worldwide Hackathon for Windows, which will take place Nov. 9-11 in more than 30 locations worldwide today begins.
"Students and other types of developers across countries such as India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Turkey, Finland, Chile and Greece will work in teams to develop apps that will be published and available for download in the Windows Store," Microsoft stated.
At the events, "students will be provided with the resources they need to build their apps, such as Visual Studio 2012 Express for Windows 8 and a free Windows Store registration code, both available through DreamSpark."

Pushing further its Bing It On challenge, Microsoft in order to prove users that Bing is indeed a better search engine than Google -- Microsoft is now offering prizes (including a Windows 8 PC) to those who participate in this challenge at their local Microsoft Store.
All you need to do is, just visit your local Microsoft retail store and take the Bing It On challenge --complete a side-by-side search comparison of five search results and pick which one you like the best.
This Bing It On challenge is valid from September 6, 2012 to October 25, 2012.
To be eligible to thise challenge, "No purchase necessary. Must be U.S. resident, 18+ years of age."
