Update 10/04: New redesigned LinkedIn Company Pages to rolled out to the more than 2 million companies who have LinkedIn Company Pages, the company announced along with introducing the "Featured Update functionality," a new way for companies to highlight important content by promoting it to the top of their Company Updates stream.

Until now, LinkedIn allow you news by industry and sources, companies, and groups -- now, starting today, LinkedIn let you "follow other professionals on LinkedIn." "Not just any professionals, but 150 of the most influential thought leaders on LinkedIn who will be sharing unique knowledge and professional insights," the company posted.

Starting today, "you can follow and read what they are saying, like and comment directly on their posts, and share with your network."

In addition to having access to status updates, "you'll start to see longer form and original posts from influencers with videos, photos, and Slideshare presentations," LindedIn blogged.

The company further writes, that over the next few months, they'll continue to expand the list of influencers. "We'll take a look at both universally-recognized thought leaders across LinkedIn and also industry-specific movers and shakers," the company adds.

LinkedIn says, they've also made it easier to join or start a professional discussion.
