Skype, which is already available for Windows' desktop mode, and offers support for Windows 8 as well, has so far not 'officially' announced a version for the Metro UI, to be named "Modern UI."
But, according to reports the team at Skype is woking on a Windows 8 version and it is called "Skype MX," now a bunch of screenshot leaded on the web showing off the new Windows 8 UI of the application.
At the moment, the application is available in a preview state, sporting a fast and fluid clean and easy to navigate interface, and is touch-enabled, greate for Windows 8 devices.
Chatting has been improved, now featuring alternating colored backgrounds for each of the people engaged in the conversation. And, the application itself is reported performing well and is quite stable.
The site claims to have conducted calls with one and multi-person chats with little issue.
"During our time with the application, it did not crash a single time. In fact, when chatting via voice and text, the parties on the other end could not tell that we were using the preview app. Considering how well polished this application is, we fully expect that it will be released by Microsoft in the very near future," reports the news site who got the hands on the app.
