In the Windows 8 news today, just a day after Microsoft announced the code completion of Windows 8, the latest RTM Build 9200 of Windows 8 Enterprise has leaked online. The leaked version is an "N" edition of Windows 8 which does not include a copy of Windows Media Player.

The RTM copies of Windows 8 OS is currently only available to hardware manufacturers (OEMs), so they could come up with new PCs in time for the October 26th launch.

Microsoft was forced to create the N falvors of Windows after the European Commission ruled in 2004 that the Redmond company needed to provide a copy of Windows platform without the Windows Media Player tied inside the operating system.

Microsoft wouldn't comment on the leak.

Also, appeared today on the web are the screenshots of the RTM build of Windows 8 revealing the final version of various built-in apps including the desktop, store, games and more. We managed to post some screenshots including those of a new Bing app, Xbox-branded Music, Video, and SmartGlass apps, plus the Mail, Calendar, People and Messaging apps.

Also, Microsoft is working on diminishing the use of the term "Metro," which was introduced with Windows 8 -- citing some "copyright disputes."

A Microsoft spokesperson told ZDNet that Metro was, in fact, only a codename for the UI, stating: "We have used Metro style as a code name during the product development cycle across many of our product lines. As we get closer to launch and transition from industry dialog to a broad consumer dialog we will use our commercial names."

The Verge said, an internal Microsoft memo indicates "discussions with an important European partner" led to the decision to "discontinue the use" of the Metro branding for Windows 8 and other Microsoft products.

The Windows team is "working on a replacement term" according to the memo, "and plans to land on that by the end of this week." Until then, employees have been advised to refer to the Metro style user interface as the "Windows 8 style UI."

A replacement term is supposedly going to be suggested imminently, possibly by this weekend.
