Google Commerce Search's "Search As You Type" is now available as a free, stand alone feature.

"Search As You Type uses Google's predictive suggestions and instant product results to enhance a merchant's existing website search functionality. When shoppers type a search query into a merchant's site, Search As You Type shows them product suggestions and photos, making it faster and easier for people to spot the product they're looking for and click through to make a purchase," Google explains.

"The Search As You Type pilot is available to US-based AdWords advertisers for free, up to 25 million searches annually, after which licensing fees would apply," Google stated.

It's easy to implement and helps increase sales and conversion rates on merchant websites.

Google says, in the coming months, they plan to expand the pilot to include more online retailers. With that, interested retailers, can fill out this form.

Seach As You Type Pilot for AdWords  Advertisers in U.S.

AdWords Editor version 9.8.1, released today now includes the ability to add and edit dynamic search ads and product listing ads, as well as quickly and easily modify location targets.

Here's an overview of key updates:

Manage location targeting more easily
The new Locations tab (under Targeting) lets you add, update, and copy location targets more efficiently.

Dynamic search ads and product listing ads
Each of these ad formats has its own tab, where you can view your ads and make changes or additions. You can also manage your dynamic ad targets and product targets on two new targeting tabs.

Google has also updated topic targeting, posting, and CSV import, along with other improvements.

Google notes, "support for previous versions of AdWords Editor will continue for four months to allow you time to upgrade. To ensure uninterrupted use of AdWords Editor, you will need to upgrade by October 28, 2012."

You can either download version 9.8.1 from the AdWords Editor website, or wait for a prompt to automatic upgrade to version 9.8.1.
