Microsoft's Channel9 posted a couple of short videos on the "Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V Extensible Switch," series, aimed for architects, software engineers and developers who are designing and building extensions to the Hyper-V Extensible Switch.

In this first video, Microsoft software design engineer Claire Mitchell introduces the viewer to the basic architecture and concepts as a foundation for specific aspects of extension interaction in the remaining of the series.

In the second below, Mitchell describes the control path of the extensible switch, which all extension developers need to understand for extension setup, port and NIC configuration, and operations.

The viewer will learn how to properly track and use switch, port and NIC states within their extension, along with the basic control flow of the extensible switch.

In the third video, Mitchell focuses on how extensions handle data flowing through extensions, specifically for extension types Capture and Filter. The video helps viewer learn about the Hyper-V Extensible Switch ingress and egress paths, along with the basic switch specific NDIS information and structures.

Microsoft has also posted HD-quality videos of windows Server 2012 Jump start series on TechNet:
