Facebook launched a few improvements to its safety and security products for its nearly half billion mobile users.

First Code Generator, an addition to Login Approvals feature, making it easier to confirm logins made on new devices. Using Code Generator, users will be able to receive Login Approval codes through their Facebook Application, without waiting on an SMS (as previously), and it'll work regardless of whether you have cellular or Internet access.

All you've to do is on your Android device, go to http://on.fb.me/LoginApprovals and follow the instructions to set up Code Generator. Once done, simply navigate to Code Generator within the Facebook for Android app to receive the security code needed to complete a login from a new device. "For your security, this code will refresh every 30 seconds," facebook said.

Finally, Facebook is testing out a "Call" button on top of people's timeline profiles. "If a friend is online on the desktop version of Facebook, those in the test see a "Call" button next to that friends name on their profile , while previously a tiny videocamera icon in the text chat window was basically the only way to start a video chat."

Facebook seems to have realized it needed to highlight the feature, otherwise, Google+ Hangouts, or the newly launched Airtime from former Facebook President Sean Parker will grap its pie. [Via TechCrunch]
