Twitter Tailored Trends Rolls Out; Offers UK Business Free £1,000 in Twitter Advertising Credit

Twitter Tailored Trends launches today will now personalize trending topics section based on your location and who you follow. "Trends help you discover the emerging topics people are talking about on Twitter," Twitter said. You can see these topics as a worldwide list, or select one of more than 150 locations.

These Trends lists are tailored for you by default on twitter.com and mobile apps like Twitter for iPhone and Twitter for Android. "If you don't wish to see tailored Trends, but instead want to see a more general list of Trends, just change your location on twitter.com," explains Sara Mauskopf, Product Manager at Twitter.

Of course, anytime you want a glimpse into the conversations that are happening on Twitter around the world, you can always select individual countries and cities to see Trends in those locations.

Look out for tailored Trends as they roll out gradually starting today.

Twitter Tailored Trends Launches

In other Twitter news, Twitter for small business that offer free in ad credits of up to $100 to promote the new ad small business ad push in that market, untily only available in the U.S. - now expands to the UK.

Twitter for small business in the U.K. to selected few businesses will reward with up to £1,000 ($1,600) free Twitter advertising credit redeemable on Twitter's "Promoted Products."

This offer is valid until July 30, 2012.

To enter: "Tweet using the hashtag #ukbizstories and tell us how you've seen a local business use Twitter creatively to connect with the community and reach their customers. We'd also love to hear from local business owners directly about how you've used Twitter to engage your customers," Twitter UK said.

Winners will be contacted via Twitter and/or email.
