Intel has already said at a conference in Beijing, that the company is working with 10 different vendos on Windows 8 specifics tablets with Intel processor inside. The mobile processor, which is codenamed "Clover Trail" will have a clock speed of 1.8 GHz, according to a slide presentation by Maloney during a presentation this week at the Intel Developer Forum in Beijing.

Intel China chairman Sean Maloney was quoted as saying, "You'll probably see many Intel-based tablets by the end of this year." He declined to say which vendors will be making Windows 8 tablets. However some companies such as HP and Dell have already announced plans to make a business-themed tablet for Microsoft's next operating system.

Now, Brooke Crothers on News.com is reporting that during the Intel Developer Forum in Beijing this week, Intel has revealed more information on the hardware specs:

"The tablets themselves, as proposed by Intel, fall into two basic sizes: pure 10-inch tablets and hybrid 11-inch designs with physical keyboards.

The tablets will have Intel's upcoming mobile processor, an Atom Z2760 "Clover Trail" chip: dual-core capable with "burst mode" (for quick bursts of performance when needed) and Hyperthreading -- the latter allows a dual-core chip to behave in quad-core-like fashion in some cases.

The Windows 8 tablets would support 3G and 4G networks out of the box, along with a nine hours of battery life with 30 days of standby power.

They would also be around 9mm thick and under 1.5 pounds," posted Crothers.
