Google+ rolling out a new user interface over the next few days that brings changes including new ways to share in Search, Gmail, YouTube and lots of other places. Announcing the upcoming changes Google's svp, Vic Gundotra also revealed that there are now more than 170 million Google+ users, up from 90 million users 2 months ago. That's a really impressive achievement.

The first thing that you'll notice in the new interface is a "vertical navigation bar" (dynamic ribbon of applications) on the left replacing the "static icons at the top," that lets you drag apps up or down to create the order you want; you can hover over certain apps, Google+ shows a set of quick actions; and also you can now show or hide apps by moving them in and out of "More."

New Google+ User interface: Google+ conversations

With the all new Google+, it's now easy to share with your circles from just about anywhere. The list of circles is now displayed at the top of the page, the search box is larger and the chat gadget has been moved to the right sidebar. When you resize the window and there's not enough room to display the chat sidebar, it becomes a floating panel.

Google+ conversations borrowed the old card interface from the previous versions of Gmail, the changes include: full bleed photos and videos with captions; a stream of conversation "cards" that make it easier to scan and join discussions; an activity drawer that highlights the community around your content.

Google+ Hangouts now has two new pages in the navigation bar: a dedicated Hangouts page that shows an always-updated list of invitations from the people in your circles, as well as quick access to every public and On Air hangout; a rotating billboard of popular hangouts, pro tips and an explore page for "what's hot".

The new Google+ also adds a new "Explore" page that shows what's interesting and trending across the network. And a new profile with bigger photos.

And a new chat list that puts your friends front and center.
