Yesterday, February 29, on the leap day, not only Microsoft announced Windows 8 Consumer Preview with Internet Explorer 10 Platform Preview 5, but also, the month end Net Apllications usage share data of browsers revealed that IE9 growth on Windows 7 continues, passing 30% worldwide as of the end of February.

And, the Windows Internet Explorer 9 usage share on Windows 7 in the United States touched the 40.5 pecent share as the end of February.

"The data is particularly encouraging for users and developers in the US where IE9 is over 40% usage share at the end February," the ie team said.

Google Chrome recorded 18 pecent usage worldwide and 12 percent in the U.S.

Mozilla's Firefox touched 21.0 pecent mark worlwide and 16.8 percent in the U.S.
