Google at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, revealed that "more than 250%, 850,000 new Android devices are activated each day," jetting the total number of Android devices around the world past 300 million.

Also, that there are now more than 450,000 apps in Android Market, which is tripled last year's 150,000 apps.

These numbers are a testament to the break-neck speed of innovation that defines the Android ecosystem.

Google and its hardware partners are also displaying over 100+ devices on display. And, also on display is the Bling Bot--powered by the Android ADK--which can bedazzle your Galaxy Nexus backplate with perfect precision.

Google also built special "app pods" into Android stand, demonstrating the latest Android innovations, such as Android Beam, which lets you share content like web pages, videos, directions, and apps--just by touching two Android phones back to back.

Hiroshi Lockheimer, vp of engineering for mobile at Google, speaking to Computerworld suggested Android 5.0 will launch in the fall. He stated "In general, the Android release cadence is one major release a year with some maintenance releases that are substantial still."

This is actually the second rumor in as many weeks concerning Android 5.0. Digitimes reported two weeks ago that Jelly Bean would launch in the second quarter of 2012 primarily to assist in Google's tablet movement.

In other Google news, Dynamic Views templates for Google Blogger.com now include "gadget support." Instead of appearing in a panel that consumes valuable real estate on your blog, gadgets now appear in a dock that slides in and out as you move your cursor over them.

If you are currently using a traditional template and change to Dynamic Views, supported gadgets will automatically appear on your blog. Gadgets can be added, removed, and customized from the Layouts tab the same as with any other template.

Gadgets supported in Dynamic Views include: Blog Archive, Followers, Labels, Profile, Subscribe (a new gadget - automatically present if either Follow By Email or Subscription installed), and Link List. These gadgets make it easier for your readers to navigate your blog (archive, labels), and to follow it (followers and RSS).

Google also revealed that since its launch in September 2011, Dynamics View has now been adpoted by millions of blogs.
