Google in an effort to bring you new ways to grow your blogger.co m based blog and engage with your readers using Google+ today introduced the "+1 counter," which allows you to quickly scan your dashboard to see which posts are most popular on your blog.

Each time a reader clicks the +1 button on a post, a +1 gets added to that post's counter and their profile photo and name will appear.

"The +1 button is available on all Dynamic Views posts by default, and can be enabled on most other template types by clicking on the Layout tab in your dashboard, clicking Edit in the Blog posts section, and checking the Show Share Buttons box," announced Bruce Polderman, Product Manager.

In other Google products news, Google Docs now allows you to export your documents in lots of different formats such as -- ODT, PDF, RTF, Text, Word, HTML etc. along with everything else on the Google Takeout menu.

"Choose to download all of the Docs that you own through Takeout in any of the formats mentioned above. We're making it more convenient for you to retrieve your information however you want -- you can even Takeout just your docs if you'd like. Lastly, be sure to click on the new "Configure" menu if you'd like to choose different formats for your documents," JJ Lueck, The Data Liberation Front states.

Version 3.0 of the Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook plugin released toady adds the following improvements:

Outlook Tasks now synchronize with Google Apps
You can use Outlook Tasks to track and manage to-do lists in your Google Apps account. The following information in Outlook Tasks synchronizes with your Gmail Task gadget, and is available from other devices where you access your Google Apps for Business, Government and Education account:

  • Tasks, including due dates and reminders
  • Task state (whether a task has been marked as completed)
  • Top-level task folders sync as separate tasks lists in the Gmail Task gadget
