Microsoft bets $100 on Windows Phone smoke'n your deviceMicrosoft's Ben Rudolph a.ka. BenThePCGuy, challenges that Windows Phone is better, faster than other mobile operating systems on the market. "You heard right. I'm so confident that Windows Phone makes things faster and easier that I'm willing to put a hundred bucks on the line to prove it," said Rudolph.

This year at CES, that's exactly what I'll be doing - by putting my money where my mouth is - with the #smokedbywindowsphone $100 Challenge.

To do this, @BenThePCGuy offering up a $100 bet that Windows Phone will smoke your current device through #smokedbywindowsphone $100 Challenge."

"While the challenge does not say specifically how it will play out, if your device wins, you get $100, if you lose, well, you have to admit to them that you got smoked by Windows Phone."

Participants are allowed any means necessary to perform the tasks, and pretty much any phone. Rudolph plans to be at the booth on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon, but says he will spend the rest of the time roaming the streets of Las Vegas looking for challengers.

So, if you're in Las Vegas this week, and think Windows Phone is inferior to your smartphone and its operating system, head on over to Microsoft's booth and prove it. Who knows, you might just win $100 for it.

The fine print of the challenge reads:

  1. The great news for you as a challenger is that I'm not going to force you into a specific scenario; we'll make the call together based on the things that you do every day on your smartphone.
  2. Once we have that set, we'll connect to one of my mobile hotspots so we both have equal network footing.
  3. Even if you lose, there's probably something pretty great in it for you. Trust me.
  4. Windows Phone users aren't eligible to enter. I already know how fast your phone is.

Ben later tweeted, out of 13 battles, Windows Phone won 12 of the match-ups. Want to see the challenge in action? Take a look at the video below.
