Samsung just announced that the Samsung GALAXY Note and GALAXY Tab 7.7 will be the first Samsung Approved for Enterprise (SAFE) devices marketed directly to consumers who wish to use their own mobile devices in both their business and personal lives.
"SAFE was first introduced to Samsung's enterprise customers in October 2011. As more organizations are adopting "bring your own device" (BYOD) policies, is an exclusive suite of security features delivering enterprise-friendly capabilities above and beyond standard Android platform features to safeguard sensitive data and communications such as," Samsung revealed at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show (CES):
- Mobile Device Management (MDM) - Maximizing flexibility. SAFE addresses even businesses' most challenging management and security concerns through relationships with leading MDM providers such as SOTI.
- On-Device Encryption - Maximizing security. Samsung offers AES 256-bit hardware-based encryption to mitigate the elevated risks of virtual and physical attack while the device is used for enterprise purposes. SAFE devices help prevent unauthorized access to mobile data by leveraging on-device encryption, including data on the microSD card.
- Virtual Private Network (VPN) - Maximizing accessibility. Samsung works with several global VPN providers such as Cisco, Juniper and others to enable fast, secure and reliable global corporate connectivity. SAFE™ devices support protocols and authentication measures for better security and faster access for enhanced off-site productivity.
- Corporate Email/Calendar/Contacts - Maximizing efficiency. SAFE devices offer extensive support for communication systems such as Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. Samsung SAFE devices support additional capabilities above and beyond stock smartphone and tablet operating systems, maximizing the efficiency and productivity for enterprise users.
The company also announced the Samsung GALAXY Attain 4G (GALAXY SII 4G LTE), a multi-tasking smartphone with the power of 4G LTE.
Available online and in MetroPCS in the coming weeks, this mobile powerhouse is MetroPCS' latest addition to its 4G LTE Android handset lineup.
The GALAXY Attain 4G, is armed with a 1GHz processor, powered with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), has a 3 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera.
The device has a 3.5" screen.
In addition, T-Mobile USA and Samsung announced the upcoming availability of the Samsung GALAXY S Blaze.
The GALAXY S Blaze 4G will be the third smartphone to take advantage of 4G technology (HSPA+42) running on America's Largest 4G Network.
Blaze 4G will be featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processor with 1.5 GHz dual CPUs, a brilliant Super AMOLED touch screen and a variety of pre-loaded entertainment, the GALAXYS Blaze 4G provides fast access to the things consumers want most.
