Google Code LabsGoogle Apps Groups Settings API, launhced today for Google Apps for Business, Education and ISPs, allows you to control settings for all of your groups much more efficiently.

"To begin using the Google Groups Settings API today, follow the instructions in the API documentation. You will need to sign in to the Google APIs Console and request access to the API," reveals Google Apps Developers team.

Adding, the team said, "We hope the API will allow you to more quickly and easily manage all of the groups in your domain. If you have any questions about this API, please ask them in the Domain Information and Management APIs forum."

Google Apps Groups Settings API can be used to manage:

  • "Access settings for a group, such as who can subscribe and post
  • Email delivery settings, including maximum message size and reply options
  • Message moderation settings, such as whether messages from new members should be moderated, all messages should be moderated, or no moderation should be used," explains the team.

In other Google news, Google Notebook which is shutting down, as Google announced on Sep 2, now a message informs users that Google "will automatically export your Notebooks to Google Docs starting November 11, 2011".

The FAQ explains that "once we start the transition, each notebook you have will automatically be exported to Google Docs. We will do this for every single notebook, and you won't have to do anything. This export will work the same as the existing 'Export to Docs' feature in Notebook. The format of the new documents will be as if you manually exported each of your notebooks to Docs."
