Verizon Wireless is all set to launch Apple's iPhone 4S on Friday, (which according to a report, Apple has already sold out of its U.S. iPhone 4S pre-order allotment. Customers who are interested in ordering an iPhone 4S from the Apple Online Store can still order, but the shipments are said to arrive in 1-2 weeks).

On a side note, AT&T has alos announced that they have "processed 200,000 pre-orders for the iPhone 4S."

Sprint has also sold out of the 16GB iPhone 4S.

Verizon, today announced that they are launching Android-based Samsung Stratosphere on Thursday, October 13.

Samsung Stratosphere sports a slide-out QWERTY keyboard which is a first for any Verizon smartphone that supports the LTE network. It also has the Android 2.3 version of Google's mobile operating system, with a 4-inch Super AMOLED touch screen display.

It has a 1 GHz processor, a 5 megapixel rear facing camera and a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera. And, an option to turn on its mobile hotspot feature which will allow up to eight devices to connect to the LTE network via WiFi or up to five devices on the 3G network.

Pricing for the Samsung Stratosphere will be $149.99 with a new two year contract and a $50 mail in rebate.

In addition, Verizon will be selling the first smartphone with Android 4.0 inside.
