Net Applications: iOS, Safari and Google Leads Mobile/Tablets OS/Browser/Seach Engine Market

A report issued on Saturday by Net Applications measured smartphone tablet mobile operating systems, reporting that Apple's iOS accounts for more than half of the visits to its clients' 40,000 websites around the world. In fact,the 54.65% share that Net Applications recorded for iOS devices in September is an all-time record.

Android, with 16.26%, is still trailing Java ME's 18.52%. Nokia's (NOK) discontinued Symbian, at 6.12%, is fading fast and Research in Motion's is holding steady at a negligible 3.29%.

Also, in a seperate report, Net Applications compared mobile/tablet browser usage repoting that apple's mobile Safari is holding the mobile browser market with 55.59% usage share. While Opera Mini came second with 18.92% market share.

Net Applications also compared the mobile/tablet search engine market share reporting that Google leading the mobile search market with 91.24% market share. Yahoo is hoding second place with 6.44%, and Bing came third with 1.21% of market share. Other search engines compared includes:
