At the Photoshop World 2011, Adobe announced Adobe Carousel for iPad, iPhone, iPod touch and Mac OS -- designed for anyone who needs a simple way to view, browse, adjust and share photographs without worrying about manual syncing or storage.

"When customers import their photo library into Adobe Carousel, or take new photos using Adobe Carousel on an iOS device, those photos are automatically accessible on any supported device through the cloud-based smart mesh technology incorporated in Adobe Carousel," explained Adobe. Once imported, any edits, deletions or additions to the library made on one device are automatically updated across all devices linked with the account.

Adobe's John Nack described Carousel in a blog post on the official Adobe blog, quoted below:

"Lightroom for iPad" has been the clearest customer mandate I've heard in 10+ years at Adobe. Photographers are clamoring to transfer photos wirelessly to their tablets, review & tweak them there, and then sync the results with their desktops.

Adobe Carousel embraces that vision-and takes it further. This new app-announced today for iOS and Mac OS X (with Android & Windows versions in development)-brings a highly tuned version of the Lightroom/Camera Raw engine to mobile devices, combining it with excellent multi-device syncing.

"Setting up Adobe Carousel is easy. Customers will just download the apps, set up a subscription plan on their iPhone and iPad, and they are ready to go. Subscribers can import a virtually unlimited number of JPEG files, and install Adobe Carousel apps on as many of their compatible devices as they want," Adobe stated.
