Back in 2005 Google started Google Maps with just one domain, .com, and now almost six years later, today as of August 19, the search company has announced that they have added "more than 40 new domains on Google Maps."

"In total we have more than 130 countries with their customized maps domains and we support 60+ user interface languages," informs Jarda Bengl, Business Product Manager.
