Microsoft SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA) v.5.1, a family of products to automate database migration to all edition of SQL Server (including SQL Server Express) and SQL Azure has now been released.

You can now automate database migration from Oracle, Sybase, MySQL, and Access database to SQL Azure and SQL Server "Denali".

"SSMA for Access automates conversion of Microsoft Access database objects to SQL Server database objects, loads the objects into SQL Server, and then migrates data from Microsoft Access to SQL Server," the Redmond company stated.

"SSMA for Access v5.1 is designed to support migration from Microsoft Access 97 and higher to all editions of SQL Server 2005, SQL Server 2008, SQL Server 2008 R2, SQL Server Code Named "Denali", and SQL Azure."

Support has been introduced even for the recently released SQL Server 2012 codenamed Denali CTP3.

Early adopters already testing SQL Server 2012 codenamed Denali CTP3, will be able to see that even new features such as conversion of Oracle Sequence to SQL Server "Denali" sequence and conversion of MySQL LIMIT clause to SQL Server "Denali" OFFSET / FETCH clauses are supported by SSMA for Access 5.1.

SSMA v5.1 is available for FREE and can be downloaded from the following:
