AmazonFresh released a Windows Phone 7 mobile app today, developed on its behalf by digital agency Metia/Seattle. The app, avilable for download in the Windows Phone Marketplace, allows AmazonFresh customers to place and manage their orders.
The online retailer’s grocery delivery service is only available in the Seattle region, which happens to be home to a disproportionately large number of Windows Phone users, thanks to the more than 40,000 Microsoft employees here.
“By taking full advantage of the Windows Phone operating system, Metia was able to build a mobile shopping experience that is lightning fast, providing AmazonFresh customers the convenience of managing their grocery orders where and when they want,” the company says in a news release. “Within a couple of clicks their orders are instantly delivered to Amazon’s secure servers to be delivered the same day, when available.”
AmazonFresh does have a mobile site optimized for the iPhone.
