Intel launched "The Escape," an immersive, entertaining thriller which allows its YouTube audience to take part in the adventure. "The Escape" integrates YouTube, interactivity and social networking into a single seamless experience for the first time.
Inspired by Intel's earlier film, "The Chase," "The Escape" breaks through YouTube's third wall and makes the audience the hero, remotely piloting drones and brawling with assailants to assist the film's femme fatale in her mission.
Upon visiting the site, users are treated to a fullscreen experience that goes beyond typical YouTube videos. "Quicktime" events propel the trailer, with mini action scenes such as assembling a puzzle, firing at mercenaries with a remote drone, and even a showdown with a mercenary, Street Fighter-style.
"While entertaining, the trailer continues to advertise key features of Intel's new processors in the action scenes. For instance, "Turbo Boost 2.0" is demonstrated by the female hero breaking apart an elevator, speeding it up considerably. Two other scenes demonstrate Intel's Wireless Display capabilities and multitasking. Finally, a small Easter Egg is a QR code that appears halfway, directing users to a bonus deleted clip."
