The Wall Street Journal reports that Dell on Tuesday will mount another challenge at the MacBook Air's dominance with the XPS 15z announcement, their newest ultra-thin, stylish notebook teased with the "The game is about to change" tagline.
The 15-inch machine probably sports the aluminum unibody construction Apple pioneered with the Air. It'll start out at $999 and Dell says it's the thinnest notebook "on the planet".
Dell, which first entered the premium notebook market with the Adamo brand, is clearly throwing down the gauntlet at Apple in both screen size and price departments. Joining Dell recently was Samsung which also took aim at Apple's flash storage-based notebook with a thin Windows-based machine dubbed the Series 9.
