Twitter have made it what it is today, and on its fifth birthday -- the company published a new video embedded below, featuring numerous celebrities explaining how and why they use the service. Richard Branson, Serena Williams, Piers Morgan, Snoop Dogg, Hillary Clinton and a host of others appear in the video to explain who they follow and how and why they use Twitter.

The company is also, a new website, blog posts, and has a national TV appearance on tap, too.

Finally, if you're more interested in the tech side of Twitter's five years, a blog post on the company's engineering blog explains how Twitter was "moved" twice last year to make the service more stable:

"Under the hood, Twitter is a complex yet elegant distributed network of queues, daemons, caches, and databases. Today, the feed and care of Twitter requires more than 200 engineers to keep the site growing and running smoothly. What did moving the entirety of Twitter while improving up-time entail?…What's more, during the migration we set a new Tweet per second record, continued to grow, launched new products, while improving the security and up-time of our service.

Here's a simplified version of what we did."
