Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer todayjoined with Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett to officially open the Philadelphia Microsoft Technology Center, a state-of-the-art facility designed to help companies throughout the mid-Atlantic region improve their use of technology to grow their businesses, add jobs, and strengthen their local communities.

The 17,500 square foot facility, located in Malvern, Pa., just outside of Philadelphia, is provides acces to Microsoft technologies and support staff who'll work with companies in the region to envision, architect and demonstrate secure, customized solutions based on Microsoft and partner technologies, anything from cloud computing to business productivity infrastructure optimization.

"The commonwealth applauds Microsoft for the part they are playing in helping their fellow business owners to succeed and grow jobs in this community," said Governor Tom Corbett.

Ballmer added that "this Microsoft Technology Center is the 10th such center in the U.S. and the latest investment we're making in Pennsylvania in addition to the 200 employees already located here."

The Philadelphia facility is Microsoft's 22nd Technology Center worldwide and tenth across the US. Microsoft has over 3,700 hardware, software, system integrator and other tech industry partners in Pennsylvania.
