After launching Rdio for Roku, an improved Collection page, and improved Rdio for iPhone--today, its the turn of "Rdio for Mac" that lets you enjoy all the music and organization of Rdio.com without a browser, created especially for your Mac.
The app offers easy access to your Rdio stations, top artists, queue and listening history. It's also slicker and faster than the existing Adobe Air app for Rdio, with none of the Flash issues Mac users experience on the web or in the Air app. You can even use the media keys on your Mac to play, pause and skip in Rdio. It also supports Growl notifications, for those OS X users who are addicted to the popular systemwide alert app.
In addition to playing music and managing your Rdio MP3 downloads (like our earlier app), here're some other things you can do with Rdio for Mac:
- Control your music with your keyboard's media keys--play, pause and skip tracks directly from your keyboard.
- Listen to music beyond the browser--enjoy Rdio.com's familiar features, such as New Releases, Top Charts and Recommendations, right on your desktop.
- Jumpstart your Collection--use Match Collection to see which music from your iTunes Library is in Rdio's catalog.
