Microsoft announces expanded BPOS-Standard support for the Mac OS with the introduction of a new Microsoft Online Services Sign In application that supports the recently released Office for Mac 2011. The new Sign In app for Mac is scheduled for March end. In addition to support for Office 2011, new Sign In app includes a number of bug fixes and enhancements that improve the performance and stability of the app for the Mac OS.
The Sign In app provides a simple, single sign-in point for MOS, and provides:
- Single access point for services, rather than signing in to each service separately
- Automatic configuration of apps
- Password management
- Sign in options such as automatic sign-in upon computer start-up
When you install or update Sign In app, it checks for apps that can be used with MOS and automatically configures those apps.
With new Sign In app, there'll be two Sign In apps that support various versions of Mac Office. "Customers using Office for Mac 2004 and Office for Mac 2008, can use current Sign In app. New app, will support Office 2011 and Office 2008 with EWS.
