Motorola's Atrix 4G isn't even out yet, but xda-developers has successfully rooted the Android OS the Atrix runs on, allowing all sorts of fancy applications and hacks to be run. The device was rooted thanks to the well-known AT&T developer designgears along with Getaphixx.

"Root access allows users to remove bloatware, more fully customize a device, use backup tools, and poke around in the internal system. Now, Atrix users will be able to take full control of their devices on launch day. Root privileges will also allow users to enable application sideloading--something AT&T has restricted on their slate of Android devices. Unfortunately, Motorola has still signed the Atrix 4G bootloader."

The process is safe, but BriefMobile can not be held responsible for anything nasty that happens to your Atrix 4G. Make sure you've done your research prior to rooting your Atrix 4G! Check out the rooting instructions below.
