comScore, today released its monthly comScore qSearch analysis of the U.S. search marketplace.
According to the report Google Sites led the U.S. explicit core search market in Jany with 65.6% market share, followed by Yahoo! Sites with 16.1% and Microsoft Sites with 13.1% (up 1.1 percentage points). Ask Network accounted 3.4% , followed by AOL 1.7%.
Nearly 17 billion explicit core searches were conducted in Jan'11. Google Sites ranked first with 11.1 billion searches. Yahoo! Sites came 2nd with 2.7 billion, followed by Microsoft Sites 2.2 billion (up 13%), Ask 576 million and AOL 296 million.
Google Sites accounted 64.6% of total core search queries conducted, followed by Yahoo! Sites 17.9% and Microsoft Sites 12.85 (up 0.8 percentage points). Ask 3.1%, followed by AOL 1.6%.
Americans conducted 18.6 billion total core search queries in January. Google Sites ranked first with 12 billion searches, followed by Yahoo! Sites with 3.3 billion and Microsoft Sites with 2.4 billion.
