Microsoft February 2011 Security Updates Advance Notification: 12 Bulletins, 3 Critical

Microsoft Security Response Center (MSRC) posted details about the February security updates. On February 8, Microsoft will release 12 bulletins. Three of the bulletins are rated Critical and nine of them are rated Important.

They will address issues in:

  • Microsoft Windows
  • Internet Explorer
  • Microsoft Office
  • Visual Studio
  • IIS

"As part of this month's update, we'll be addressing issues related to two recent Security Advisories, 2490606 (a public vulnerability affecting the Windows Graphics Rendering Engine) and 2488013 (a public vulnerability affecting Internet Explorer). Additionally, we'll be addressing an issue affecting FTP service in IIS 7.0 and 7.5," stated MSRC.
